Accra, the capital of Ghana, where the iconic Ghana DJ Awards Festival is held annually, will once again play host to another exciting event, the Ghana DJ Expo in 2017.

The inaugural Ghana DJ Expo will be held in March 2017. Merqury Republic and partners have identified the event as a vehicle to position Ghana as an enviable destination for art, entertainment, DJ culture and music. The event is to coincide with Ghana DJ Awards as well as to enhance the prestigious awards scheme itself that is entering its 5th edition by next year.

“This new event will offer platforms for DJs to get informed about new trends and get enlightened on key subjects including the music business, as well as grow the Meeting & Exhibition market segments related to music through an exposition” says Cynthia Ewli, Events Coordinator at Merqury Republic, organizers of the event. “It is our ambition to grow this event into a world recognized annual exposition for the professionals and trade visitors within the international music scene” she added.

Scheduled to be held a day before the Ghana DJ Awards every year, the expo will integrate a trade fair, musical showcases, conferences, exhibitions and networking sessions which would promote the DJ culture and Ghanaian music. The Expo is specifically designed to expose Ghanaian DJs and musicians to the international market through the participation of DJs, music enthusiasts and professionals from other countries.

The anticipated expo would be the first of its kind to be organized in Africa, a melting pot of various cultures and traditions brought together through music which is to be showcased by top DJs at the expo. The GDJ Expo is sure to create a unique opportunity for Exhibitors to connect with consumers receptive to music technology, services, and music culture and lifestyle brands. The expo insures to connect attendees with the world’s leading music resources to help guide those who DJ as a hobby as well as those who are serious about their careers and wanting greater success.
